Fuse Recruitment are sourcing for a Key Account Administrator for our Engineering specialist client based in Wetherill Park. This role is ideal for either an experienced Key Account Administrator from a manufacturing environment or one looking to break into the aerospace and defence engineering industries looking for the next step in their career!
The Client:
An industrial and materials services facility located in Wetherill Park. The site supports construction, manufacturing, and infrastructure sectors by supplying engineered materials, processing steel products, and providing logistics and technical support. Positioned within one of Sydney’s largest industrial precincts, it helps distribute materials and components across New South Wales supporting the aerospace and defence industries.

The Role: Key Account Administrator
In this role you will be full time office based and supporting Senior Account Managers in maintaining our client’s largest and most strategic accounts. These accounts range from corporate to aerospace and defence organisations.
Your main duties will involve:
You will act as the primary liaison between clients and internal teams, ensuring high customer satisfaction, managing, and growing long-term relationships. You will handle daily inquiries, monitor account health, report progress, and identify upselling or renewal opportunities.
Key Responsibilities as the Key Account Administrator:
- Relationship Management: Building and maintaining strong, long-term relationships with clients, agents, and partners.
- Client Support: Acting as the main point of contact for service issues, inquiries, and requests.
- Account Growth: Identifying opportunities for upselling, cross-selling, and contract renewals to increase revenue.
- Operational Support: Reviewing account activities, monitoring performance metrics, and managing client expectations regarding timelines and budgets.
- Internal Liaison: Collaborating with sales, support, and other teams to address client needs and resolve issues.
- Reporting: Generating performance reports to provide insights to both clients and internal management.
Additional duties:
- Support the Senior Account Manager in the day-to-day management of key strategic accounts.
- Assist and prepare accurate quotations, pricing schedules, proposals, and customer documentation.
- Proactively engage with customers to manage enquiries, resolve issues, and maintain strong relationships.
- Monitor account performance, service levels, and delivery outcomes in collaboration with operations.
- Identify growth opportunities within existing and potential accounts and escalate or progress as appropriate.
- Assist with contract administration, tender submissions, and account reporting.
- Maintain accurate customer data, pricing structures, and reporting within SAP and internal systems.
- Build strong working relationships with internal stakeholders to ensure seamless service delivery.
- Contribute to revenue growth by supporting cross-sell and upsell initiatives.
The Candidate:
To be successful in obtaining this role will have the following experience:
- 5+ years’ experience in account administration management
- Experience in the Steel / Aluminium, engineering or defence sectors is advantageous
- Proven ability to proactively identify and develop commercial opportunities.
- Demonstrated career stability with long-term tenure in previous positions.
- Strong commercial acumen, with the ability to understand pricing, margin, and customer requirements.
- Demonstrated experience preparing accurate quotations and proposals.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- High attention to detail and strong numerical capability.
- Proficiency in SAP and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Commercially aware and customer focused, with a natural ability to identify and raise growth opportunities.
- Confident communicator capable of building trusted client relationships.
- Proactive, motivated, and solutions oriented.
- Collaborative team player with the ability to work independently.
- Professional, reliable, and accountable.
