About the role:
My Muscle Chef is on the lookout for Junior Cooks to join our Fast Paced – Bulk Production Kitchen. Work Days: Sunday to Thursday
3 Different Set Shifts Available: Day, Afternoon & Night
- Day Shift: 6:15am – 2:15pm
- Afternoon Shift: 2:15pm – 10:15pm
- Night Shift: 10:15pm – 6:15am
Key Responsibilities:
Food Preparation & Cooking:
- Prepare and cook bulk production of food according to standardised recipes and kitchen guidelines.
- Ensure consistency in taste, portioning is maintained for every cook.
Food Safety & Hygiene:
- Follow all food safety regulations, including proper storage, labelling, and temperature control.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, adhering to sanitation standards.
Kitchen Operations:
- Properly store and rotate ingredients using the FIFO (First In, First Out) method.
- Work efficiently to meet service deadlines and kitchen schedules.
Equipment & Maintenance:
- Operate kitchen equipment safely and correctly.
- Report any equipment malfunctions or maintenance needs.
- Ensure all tools and workspaces are properly cleaned and maintained.
- Use of Combi Ovens, Bratt Pans, Commercial Kettles
Team Collaboration:
- Work closely with other kitchen staff to ensure smooth operations.
- Communicate effectively with supervisors regarding any issues or needs.
Compliance & Regulations:
- Adhere to health and safety policies, including workplace safety protocols.
- Follow company guidelines and industry best practices in food handling.
Skills & Experience:
- Minimum of 6 months experience in any cooking industry.
- Basic Food Handling certificate
- Strong Communication skills
- Ability to work in a fast paced environment
- Ability to lift up to 20kg repetitively
