We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced IT Infrastructure Project Manager to join our team. The ideal candidate will bring a blend of hands-on technical expertise and strong leadership abilities to manage various client engagements. The initial project will involve managing a large DC consolidation program for a well known ASX listed organisation.

This role will be responsible for ensuring the stability, scalability, and security systems, as well as leading infrastructure projects to support organizational goals. You will play a key role in designing and implementing infrastructure strategies and managing day-to-day operations across various platforms.

Responsibilities

  • Managing multiple vendors and client stakeholders simultaneously.
  • Ensure continuous availability and performance of critical infrastructure systems, including monitoring, troubleshooting, and resolving issues.
  • Implement best practices for network security, data protection, and disaster recovery, including system updates and patches.
  • Manage virtualization environments (VMware, Hyper-V, etc.) and cloud services (AWS, Azure, etc.) to ensure optimal operation.
  • Lead capacity planning and infrastructure scaling efforts to meet evolving business needs.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop a team of IT professionals, ensuring they have the necessary skills and resources to deliver high-quality services.
  • Oversee daily operations of the infrastructure team, assigning tasks, setting priorities, and ensuring timely project execution.
  • Manage IT infrastructure projects from planning through execution, ensuring that projects are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget.
  • Develop and maintain project schedules, manage resource allocation, and track progress, reporting updates to senior leadership.
  • Foster a collaborative and efficient work environment by encouraging communication and teamwork among team members and cross-functional stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with other departments to understand business requirements and develop IT infrastructure strategies that align with organizational goals.
  • Evaluate new technologies and industry trends to drive innovation and keep the infrastructure ahead of organizational needs.
  • Develop and maintain documentation of infrastructure processes, standards, and configurations to ensure knowledge sharing and compliance with best practices.
  • Work with vendors and third-party providers to ensure high-quality service and cost-effective infrastructure solutions.
  • Manage budgets for infrastructure operations and projects, ensuring optimal spending and resource allocation.
