About Us...
At Breakthru, we’re driven by people — their goals, their potential and their future. As a trusted provider across disability, mental health and employment services, we support individuals to thrive through practical, strengths-based programs.
Breakthru College delivers high-quality accredited and non-accredited training for the community services sector. As part of the Royal Rehab Group — a respected charity with over 125 years of impact — we combine innovation with purpose to create meaningful education pathways.
This isn’t a desk-bound role. You’ll be in the classroom delivering dynamic, face-to-face training that prepares students for real careers in the sector. You’ll shape confident, capable graduates who are ready to make a difference in their communities.
We offer a supportive, inclusive culture that values your expertise and energy.
About the role…
We’re seeking an energetic and engaging Trainer and Assessor to deliver the Certificate III in Individual Support in Charters Towers.
This is a part-time, fixed-term contract (6 months) commencing mid-May, working 3 days per week. Travel costs will be covered.
You’ll bring learning to life in a group setting, using practical, interactive delivery approaches that build confidence, capability and job-readiness.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver engaging face-to-face training in group classroom settings
- Facilitate learning through discussion, demonstration and hands-on activities
- Conduct assessments and ensure compliance with training and assessment requirements
- Maintain strong classroom management and a positive learning culture
- Monitor and document learner progress accurately
- Stay current with industry practices and regulatory standards
- Travel expenses will be covered for successful candidates based in Townsville or surrounding areas.
About you…
You’re passionate about developing others and thrive in a classroom environment. You bring positive energy, connect easily with diverse learners, and know how to keep a group engaged.
You are organised, confident in front of a class, and committed to delivering high-quality, compliant training.
Essential Criteria:

- Demonstrated experience in the disability sector
- Experience delivering face-to-face, group-based training
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Understanding of the NDIS
- Current (or willingness to obtain): Criminal Record Check, Working with Children Check & NDIS Worker Screening Clearance
Training experience (2+ years) is desirable.
Your Royal Rewards…

We encourage applications from all members of our community, including Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, LGBTIQA+ individuals, people with disability, and those from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds.
