Description

All Things Equal is a social enterprise empowering people with disability through award-wage employment, purposeful training, and pathways to rewarding careers in hospitality. We exist to bridge the gap between people with disability and the wider community. In four short years, we have delivered training to 84+ participants, provided employment for 31 young people with disability, paid over $600,000 in award wages, and seen 11 trainees secure employment with mainstream employers.

We are entering an exciting period of growth, and we’re taking expressions for interest as we look to expand our team across multiple programs and locations in the coming months.

We’re looking for passionate, skilled, experienced hospitality people to join our team and support trainees across our Employment Pathway Program as they embark on their hospitality careers.

Types of Roles Available

✨ Hospitality Trainers

Support trainees to build confidence, skills, and professionalism in our real café environment. You will model high standards in customer service, food handling, teamwork, and overall hospitality, while guiding trainees through hands-on learning experiences. Trainers provide encouragement, feedback, and practical instruction, helping trainees develop independence, resilience, and employability skills. This role requires adaptability, patience, and a passion for working alongside individuals with disability, creating and nurturing a supportive and empowering learning environment.

✨ Employment Mentors

Provide hands-on job support to trainees in external mainstream work settings. Our employment mentors ensure both the individual and their employer feel fully supported for a successful working relationship. The Employment Mentor takes a practical, hands-on approach, guiding and supporting mentees as they develop confidence, independence, and skills in their new role.

What We Can Offer

Casual and Permanent part-time roles.

Opportunities across our Balaclava café, new West Melbourne cafe and Abbotsford site (opening later this year), as well as with Employment Partners, primarily bases in the Melbourne CBD.

A warm, supportive team that champions belonging, excellence, growth, and meaningful impact

The opportunity to play a real role in changing lives

Our Dream Candidate

Our dream candidate is an experienced hospitality professional who brings warmth, energy, and genuine care to every interaction. They thrive on customer engagement and know how to create welcoming, memorable experiences with a hospitality-first mindset. They lead by example, demonstrating professionalism, patience, and strong advocacy and interpersonal skills in all settings.

They connect easily with people of all abilities and backgrounds, naturally building rapport and providing guidance as others learn. Adaptable and calm under pressure, they are motivated by inclusion and by work that creates meaningful impact, growth, and opportunities for others. This role is best suited to someone who brings people-focused energy, a flair for personalised support, and a genuine desire to make a difference.

An NDIS Worker Clearance and a First Aid Certificate are essential for this role (or a willingness to obtain these).
