Gidgee Healing is seeking passionate and dedicated General Practitioners to join our multidisciplinary team delivering culturally responsive, comprehensive primary health care services across the Mount Isa region and remote communities.

We welcome applications from GP Registrars who are committed to rural and remote health and eager to gain experience in Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Services.

About the Role

As a GP at Gidgee Healing, you will:

• Provide holistic, patient-centred care in a culturally safe environment.
• Work collaboratively with Aboriginal Health Practitioners, nurses, allied health professionals, and visiting specialists.
• Participate in outreach clinics to remote communities.
• Contribute to continuous quality improvement and clinical governance.

About You

• A qualified GP with current AHPRA registration, or eligible for registration via the Standard Pathway (including PESCI and AMC requirements).
• A GP Registrar enrolled in an accredited training program, or seeking rural placement.
• Passionate about improving health outcomes for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.
• Committed to cultural safety and respectful engagement.

International Applicants:

Gidgee Healing welcomes overseas-trained doctors who meet the eligibility criteria for registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA). You may be required to complete a Pre-Employment Structured Clinical Interview (PESCI) and other steps under the Standard Pathway. Our team can support you through this process.
