The Organisation
This organisation sits at the centre of a complex, asset intensive network of operations that underpin essential infrastructure and supply chains across Australia. With multiple operational sites and long-standing partnerships, the business combines large scale production, logistics and commercial activity within one integrated model.
The finance team plays a critical role in bridging the gap between numbers and operations - working closely with site leadership, senior executives and partners to ensure performance is understood, costs are controlled, and decisions are commercially sound.
As the structure continues to evolve and simplify, this role has become increasingly important in providing clarity, accountability and forward-looking insight across key operational areas.
The Role
Reporting into the Finance Manager, this role sits within a team of commercially focused accountants and acts as a key finance partner to operational stakeholders.
You will take ownership of a portfolio of operations, providing reporting, analysis and commercial insight while working closely with site leadership to drive performance, manage costs and improve financial visibility. This is a highly visible role with regular interaction across both finance and operational teams, including senior stakeholders.
Key responsibilities include:
- Managing month-end processes including journals, reconciliations and full P&L reporting
- Preparing management reports with detailed analysis and commentary on performance drivers
- Supporting budgeting, forecasting and financial planning activities
- Monitoring cashflow and supporting dividend-related reporting
- Managing reporting across complex structures, including JV arrangements
- Preparing monthly and quarterly reporting packs for senior leadership and board stakeholders
- Partnering with operational teams to improve cost control and financial accountability
- Acting as the key finance contact for operational leadership and driving stakeholder engagement
About You
You’re someone who enjoys being close to the business and understanding what sits behind the numbers, not just producing them. You take ownership of your work, are comfortable working independently and know how to prioritise when deadlines start to stack up.
You’re confident engaging with operational stakeholders, able to challenge where needed, and comfortable explaining financial outcomes in a way that makes sense to non-finance teams.
You’ll bring:
- CA or CPA qualification with experience in management accounting or business partnering roles
- Strong financial reporting, forecasting and analytical capability
- Experience working in operational or site-based environments will be highly regarded
- Ability to interpret complex data and clearly communicate insights to non-finance stakeholders
- Strong stakeholder engagement skills and confidence working with senior leaders
- Advanced Excel capability and experience with ERP systems (SAP advantageous)
- A proactive, organised approach with the ability to work autonomously and take ownership
On Offer
- Finance Business Partner role with strong exposure to operational decision-making
- High visibility position working closely with senior leadership and key stakeholders
- Opportunity to own your portfolio and operate with autonomy
- Supportive leadership team with strong career development opportunities
- Managing month-end processes including journals, reconciliations and full P&L reporting
- Preparing management reports with detailed analysis and commentary on performance drivers
- Supporting budgeting, forecasting and financial planning activities
- Monitoring cashflow and supporting dividend-related reporting
