You will use your underwriting expertise to assess new business and renewals across rural and farm risks, while partnering closely with agency networks and stakeholders to support profitable growth. Your new role

A day in the role may look a bit like this;

  • Underwrite new business and renewals across farm and rural insurance risks, delivering quotes in a timely and professional manner.
  • Assess and evaluate property, liability and farm-related exposures in line with underwriting standards to support sustainable portfolio growth.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with agency partners, customers and internal stakeholders across the Elders Insurance network.
  • Ensure policy documentation, endorsements and underwriting decisions are accurate, compliant and aligned to product and legislative requirements.
  • Apply sound judgement to referrals, pricing considerations and portfolio decisions while maintaining underwriting discipline.
  • Contribute to team discussions, share market insights and support continuous improvement across farm underwriting practices.

About you

To be successful in this role you will ideally have the following skills and attributes;

  • Experience in underwriting, ideally with exposure to farm, rural or commercial insurance portfolios.
  • Knowledge of Farm insurance products, including property and liability exposures, will be highly regarded.
  • Ability to manage a varied portfolio, adapt to changing priorities and make balanced commercial decisions.
  • Strong relationship-building skills, with the confidence to work closely with agency partners and deliver responsive service.
  • Solid understanding of underwriting principles, risk assessment and policy documentation in a general insurance environment.
  • Excellent communication skills, attention to detail and the ability to build credibility with stakeholders across the business.
