THE BRAND – LAWSON FLATS

From the team behind the State Buildings Lawson Flats is a membership-based social club spanning three floors in one of the city’s last remaining Art Deco jewels.

Our member community has access to a collection of rooms fit for work, life, and play with co-working spaces, karaoke and listening rooms, an art gallery, movement studios, and Luis’ bar and kitchen by one of Perth’s leading chefs at the heart.

We’re a private members club in the heart of the city, open Monday to Saturday for breakfast, lunch and dinner. The vibe? Somewhere between gallery opening and your most functional group chat — a mix of food, drink, conversation and the odd DJ set.

Lawson Flats is seeking an organised, service‑driven Event Coordinator to join our team and help deliver exceptional experiences across our club. Working closely with our Events, Food & Beverage, Cultural Programming, and Concierge teams, you’ll play a key role in ensuring every event, from intimate member gatherings to large cultural programs, runs seamlessly from enquiry through to execution.

Reporting to the Event Operations Manager, this role blends event administration with hands‑on operations, offering variety, ownership, and the chance to work in one of Perth’s most unique and design‑led member clubs.

About the Role

As the Event Coordinator, you’ll support the planning and delivery of private, in‑house, and cultural events held at Lawson Flats. Approximately 60% of your time will be spent on event planning and administration, with 40% dedicated to on‑the‑floor operational coordination.

Key Responsibilities

  • Act as a primary point of contact for members and clients regarding event enquiries, bookings, and special requests
  • Provide warm, professional, and personalised service aligned with Lawson Flats’ member experience standards
  • Maintain strong knowledge of club facilities, programming, and services
  • Manage event enquiries via the events inbox
  • Maintain accurate booking information within the reservation system
  • Assist with planning and coordination of private, in‑house, and cultural events
  • Prepare accurate and detailed Event Orders using established templates
  • Produce event quotations in line with approved pricing
  • Communicate event requirements clearly to internal departments
  • Participate in weekly and monthly event meetings and support post‑event reporting
  • Receive event handovers from the Event Operations Manager and understand all client requirements
  • Oversee setup, execution, and pack‑down of events across the club
  • Coordinate event logistics including layout, décor, AV, lighting, printed materials, and service flow
  • Act as the on‑the‑day operational contact for event queries and adjustments
  • Manage last‑minute changes such as dietary needs, guest numbers, or technical needs
  • Work closely with F&B, Kitchen, Concierge, and Cultural Programming teams for seamless delivery
  • Assist with rostering and staffing coordination when required
  • Uphold high standards of presentation, service, and attention to detail in every event
  • Undertake reasonable additional duties aligned with the operational needs of the business

Who We’re Looking For

  • A hospitality or events professional with strong organisational skills
  • Someone who enjoys balancing administrative work with hands‑on service
  • A confident communicator who thrives in a member‑focused environment
  • A natural multitasker with great attention to detail
  • A team player who brings warmth, professionalism, and initiative

Why Join Lawson Flats?

You’ll be part of a passionate team delivering exceptional experiences in a beautifully designed members’ club environment. Every day brings something new, from intimate dinners to large cultural performances, and you’ll have the chance to contribute meaningfully to the member experience.
