Trojan Rail is offering an exciting opportunity for individuals to enter the rail industry through paid, nationally recognised training delivered by Challenger Training (RTO# 91830). Roles available in Townville, QLD, starting on 30th March 2026 with training & working the Sugar Season up until December 2026.

Key Benefits:

• Training Rate: $30.35 per hour + superannuation
• Observation/Training Shift Rate: $42.36 per hour + superannuation
• Qualified Pay Rate: Once through the training, $47.34 per hour + superannuation if placed with our clients.

Your Training Pathway:

• On-the-Job Mentoring & Assessment: Support from experienced professionals to ensure your success.
• Transition into Client Positions: Trojan Rail helps place successful candidates into client positions when rail requirements are met.

What You’ll Do after you have been trained to work with our client:

• Support the train crew to ensure services are safe and on time.
• Assist with shunting activities, yard tasks, and basic safety checks.
• Communicate effectively with site teams and follow procedures.
• Complete work orders and digital entries as needed.

What We Are Looking For:

• A safety-focused and reliable individual.
• Someone who is calm, attentive, and able to follow procedures.
• A clear communicator who works well in a small team or independently.
• Willing to work shifts in all weather conditions.

Requirements:

• Ability to pass a Category 1 rail medical and ongoing drug and alcohol testing.
• Full Class C driver licence.
• HLTAID011 Provide First Aid or willingness to obtain.
• Basic computer skills and sound literacy and numeracy.
• Right to work in Australia.
• Provide a Police Check with no court disclosable outcomes.
