We are seeking an Engineering Repair Assistant to join our Maintenance team on permanent full-time basis at Mona Vale depot.
About the Role:
As an Engineering Repair Assistant, you will be responsible for providing a range of repair and maintenance services to the Keolis Downer Northern Beaches bus fleet. Your role will ensure that all repairs are carried out effectively, efficiently, and safely, while actively contributing to the success of the workshop maintenance team.
Shift Details:
Fortnightly rotating Monday to Friday roster (Day/Afternoon shifts, no night shifts).
Working hours between 06:00 – 22:00.
Key Requirements:
- Interest in heavy vehicle fleet maintenance work, or equivalent/relevant experience.
- Labouring experience with heavy or large vehicles (preferred but not essential; training provided).
- Ability to operate cleaning and general workshop equipment.
- Physically capable of performing manual tasks.
- Strong team player, able to work cooperatively in a busy maintenance environment.
- Experience in an industrial or similar setting (advantageous).
- General interest or aptitude in equipment or vehicle servicing.
- MR or HR driver’s license (we offer license upgrades).
- Willingness to undergo pre-employment medical, criminal history, and working with children checks.

- Assist with routine cleaning of buses and depot facilities.
- Perform minor vehicle servicing (oil, filter, greasing) and tyre replacement under supervision.
- Operate various machinery, including industrial sweepers, bus wash, forklifts, and lifting equipment.
- Unload delivery trucks and support the inventory team.
- Support the maintenance team with general trades assistance
- Carry out vehicle movements as required (licence upgrade training provided where required)
- Ensure quality control and assurance of own work and assist in quality checks for others.
- Maintain accurate records and provide basic data entry and reporting.
- Participate in training programs to support promotional progression.
- Perform cleaning, fueling, and depot driving tasks, both independently and in a team.
- Work under direct or general supervision with regular individual tasks.
- Follow all safety and environmental protocols as required.
