We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Domestic and Family Violence Practice Lead to join our team delivering a practice leadership, mentoring and training across safe house and DFV services in remote communities. This role supports managers, caseworkers and support staff to deliver high quality trauma-informed, culturally safe and community led programs for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander women and children experiencing domestic and family violence in line with policy, procedure and sector leading practice. The successful applicant will strengthen Aboriginal workforce capability, embed the “Both Ways” approach in professional practice, support managers to maintain high-quality service delivery for best outcomes of both the client and the organisation. This position will also relieve Safe House Managers during times of planned leave.
Responsibilities or duties
Deliver practice leadership, mentoring and training across safe house and DFV services in remote communities.
Support managers, caseworkers and support staff to deliver high quality trauma-informed, culturally safe and community led programs for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander women and children experiencing domestic and family violence.
Strengthen Aboriginal workforce capability.
Embed the “Both Ways” approach in professional practice.
Support managers to maintain high-quality service delivery for best outcomes of both the client and the organisation.
Relieve Safe House Managers during times of planned leave.
Qualifications or requirements (e.g., education, skills)
Valid National Police Clearance certificate (not older than 6 months from date of issue).
Valid and current NT & WA working with children check (Ochre card).
Current ‘C’ class Driver’s Licence.
Relevant Degree/Tertiary qualification in community services, Psychology, and/or social work.
Strong knowledge of trauma-informed practice, child protection, and Both Ways approaches.
Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander identification and connection to community.
Accreditation or experience in clinical or practice supervision.
Experience needed
Significant experience in DFV & service delivery.
Demonstrated experience providing mentoring training, and practice leadership.
Experience working with Aboriginal Community Controlled Organisations (ACCOs).

- Significant experience in DFV & service delivery
- Ability and willingness to travel to very remote location regularly
- Demonstrated experience providing mentoring training, and practice leadership.
- Strong knowledge of trauma-informed practice, child protection, and Both Ways approaches
- Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander identification and connection to community
- Experience working with Aboriginal Community Controlled Organisations (ACCOs).
- Accreditation or experience in clinical or practice supervision.
