Responsibilities or duties
- Provide accurate, courteous support to community members via in-person, phone, and email channels, ensuring confidentiality is maintained.
- Manage customer requests, enquiries, complaints, and transactions efficiently, aiming for timely resolution.
- Promote a positive image of Council through professional presentation and service consistency.
- Support service integration within multiple sites and help facilitate community engagement initiatives.
- Assist in administrative and clerical duties supporting front-line operations and data accuracy.
- Work as part of a team committed to service excellence and continuous improvement, contributing to KPI achievement.
Qualifications or requirements
- Proven experience delivering high-quality customer service in fast-paced, multi-channel settings.
- Ability to handle sensitive customer interactions, including conflict resolution.
- Experience working with culturally and linguistically diverse communities, including Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.
- Strong communication skills in English; multilingual ability—particularly in community languages—is highly desirable.
- Flexibility to work shifts starting between 9 and 11 AM, approximately five hours per day.
- Ability to travel between multiple sites in the Hume area after training.
- Previous experience with administrative or clerical tasks and cash handling is advantageous.
