Community Coordinator – (Head of Community Pathway Role)

Sahara Services is seeking a proactive and operationally strong Community Coordinator to lead and grow our Community Participation programs based in Hornsby.

This is not just a coordination role. It is a leadership pathway position designed for someone who wants to build innovative programs, drive measurable growth, and develop into a future Head of Community within a growing organization.

Sahara Services is an NDIS-registered disability provider committed to kindness, community, passion and trust. We deliver Supported Independent Living and Community Participation programs focused on real inclusion and meaningful engagement.

About the Role

You will be responsible for overseeing the delivery, growth and quality of our

Community Participation programs.

This role combines:

  • Program innovation
  • Operational coordination
  • Stakeholder engagement
  • Team leadership
  • Strategic growth

You will have clear KPIs, structured support and the opportunity to grow into a senior leadership role.

Key Responsibilities

Program Development & Innovation

  • Design engaging, goal-aligned community programs
  • Plan and publish structured activity calendars in advance
  • Introduce signature programs that differentiate Sahara in the market

Growth & Strategy

  • Drive 10% quarterly growth in active participants
  • Support marketing and outreach initiatives
  • Develop community partnerships to expand program reach

Leadership & Team Alignment

  • Provide visible leadership across group programs
  • Support, mentor and align support workers
  • Facilitate communication between frontline teams and management

Stakeholder Engagement

  • Build strong relationships with participants and families
  • Address feedback and improve engagement
  • Ensure high levels of satisfaction and retention

Operational Oversight

  • Monitor reporting, attendance and engagement metrics
  • Ensure compliance with NDIS and safety requirements
  • Conduct quality reviews of programs

What Success Looks Like

  • Sustainable participant growth
  • High attendance and retention rates
  • Engaging, well-structured activity programs
  • Positive feedback from families and participants
  • Strong team alignment and performance
