We are looking for Coffee Trainers to join The Coffee Club as part of a newly created roles that are central to executing our evolving coffee strategy across our national café network. As part of this investment, we are partnering with Nomad Coffee Group, a highly respected name in the specialty coffee industry, to develop our trainers and provide access to world class coffee education and specialist expertise.

This role is ideal for experienced baristas or coffee trainers, including those from specialty backgrounds, who want to apply great coffee principles in a way that reaches millions of customers.

What is the role?

Reporting to the National Training Manager, the Coffee Trainer is responsible for delivering and embedding The Coffee Club’s coffee training program across Western Australia and the Northern Territory supporting both company‑owned and franchise cafés.

You’ll play a key role in executing our coffee strategy by:

Responsibilities or duties

  • Delivering hands‑on barista training and in‑store coaching
  • Lifting capability, consistency and confidence across café teams
  • Supporting coffee initiatives, completing in‑store coffee audits, and upholding equipment and brand standards
  • Supporting equipment performance and best‑practice maintenance standards
  • Championing a strong, engaged coffee culture
  • Creating engaging coffee experiences such as cuppings, tastings, sensory sessions or competitions to build pride and connection
  • Working closely with Operations, Marketing, Food Safety and field leadership to support national initiatives and rollouts

You’ll plan and manage your training activity across the territory, ensuring sessions are well‑communicated, well‑attended, and outcomes are tracked.

This is a fully remote, field-based role. While you will work with a high level of autonomy, you will be strongly supported by a collaborative network of field leaders and a highly engaged head office team.

Who are we looking for?

You’re a confident coffee professional who enjoys developing others and setting high standards.

Qualifications or requirements (e.g., education, skills)

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience as a barista in a high‑volume environment
  • Experience in coffee training, hospitality training or café leadership
  • Strong technical coffee knowledge and confidence on commercial equipment
  • Excellent communication and coaching skills
  • The ability to plan, coordinate and deliver structured training programs
  • Comfort working independently in a fast‑paced, field‑based role
  • Alignment with our values and a positive, adaptable approach to supporting cafés

Experience needed

Minimum 5 years’ experience as a barista in a high‑volume environment

Highly regarded (but not essential):

  • Nomad Barista certification
  • Certificate IV Training & Assessment
  • The Coffee Club Gold Level Accreditation
