Background

This role is within the Community Mental Health Adult Service.

Responsibilities / Roles

  • Provide expert clinical services and governance to a multidisciplinary mental health team.
  • Ensure services are evidence‑based and recovery‑focused.
  • Deliver briefings and advice to Controller of Water Resources, Chief Executive, and senior management.
  • Lead clinical supervision and uphold standards of practice.
  • Develop policies and procedures to strengthen service delivery.
  • Engage and collaborate with consumers, families, carers, and stakeholders.

Requirements / Qualifications

  • Tertiary qualifications and registration with AHPRA (Nursing, Occupational Therapy, Psychology) OR eligibility for membership of Australian Association of Social Workers OR Bachelor of Health Science (Mental Health).
  • Demonstrated high‑level clinical and consultancy skills in contemporary mental health practice.
  • For Registered Nurses: minimum 5 years postgraduate experience plus postgraduate qualifications in mental health (or commitment to enrol within 12 months).
  • Understanding of mental health rehabilitation and recovery principles.
  • Proven ability to make sound clinical decisions autonomously.
  • Demonstrated leadership and supervision skills.
  • Knowledge and application of NSW Mental Health Act (2007).
  • Strong communication and computer literacy skills.
  • Current unrestricted driver’s licence and willingness to travel long distances.
