Description

We are seeking a reliable and detail oriented Cook / Kitchen Team Member to join our kitchen crew.

We serve authentic Mexican food with traditional flavours and are on a mission to create a new experience in Mexican hospitality. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working in a fast paced kitchen environment, takes pride in consistency and food quality, and is comfortable working within clear kitchen systems and operational procedures.

Your Role:

As a member of the kitchen team, you will support the daily kitchen operations by following our preparation systems, food safety standards and service procedures to ensure every dish meets Costa Taco quality and consistency expectations.

  • Complete daily opening and closing kitchen procedures following our checklists and kitchen systems
  • Prepare food according to Costa Taco recipes, standards and service timelines
  • Assist with prep lists and mise en place planning to ensure the kitchen is ready for service
  • Maintain a clean, organised and efficient workstation throughout your shift
  • Restock and maintain service stations (grill, pass, bain-marie) according to service needs
  • Follow food safety and compliance procedures including temperature logs, sanitising protocols and HACCP standards
  • Monitor and record food wastage and assist with stock control procedures
  • Support inventory organisation and stock rotation systems
  • Contribute to smooth lunch and dinner service operations by communicating clearly with the kitchen team
  • Complete shift reports and communicate any operational issues, food safety concerns or stock shortages to the supervisor
  • Report maintenance issues, equipment faults or operational variances following kitchen reporting procedures

What You Bring:

  • Kitchen experience preferred
  • Strong attention to detail, speed, initiative and cleanliness
  • Passion for food quality and consistency
  • Team player with a positive attitude and strong work ethic
  • Comfortable working within structured kitchen systems and operational standards
  • Flexibility to work across lunch and dinner service, including weekends
