Description

Are you a commercially minded analyst who loves turning data into insights that drive growth? Do you enjoy working at the intersection of data, commercial strategy and supplier engagement?

We’re excited to be recruiting for a newly created Category Analyst role, established as part of an evolving business strategy focused on unlocking the value of data, strengthening supplier partnerships, and supporting category growth across our food and beverage network.

This role offers a unique opportunity to work with rich data sets, shape how insights are used commercially, and play a key role in developing scalable, value‑added insight products for suppliers.

About the business

Minor DKL Food Group is a leading Australian retail food franchisor and the Australian subsidiary of Thai‑listed Minor International PCL. With iconic brands including The Coffee Club and Veneziano Coffee, and a network of more than 400 stores across 11 countries, we support franchise partners through strong commercial capability, trusted supplier relationships and data‑driven decision making.

About the role

Reporting to the Chief Procurement Officer, the Category Analyst is responsible for managing and enriching category and supplier data, delivering performance reporting, and generating actionable insights that support commercial decision‑making and category growth.

A key focus of the role is preparing, structuring and analysing data to support forecasting, performance reporting, and the development of insight products that can be commercialised with suppliers. You’ll work closely with internal teams, suppliers and insight partners to turn data into clear, valuable outcomes.

Key responsibilities

Data & master data management

  • Maintain and optimise product, supplier and category master data

  • Analyse category trends, supplier performance and growth opportunities
  • Translate complex data into clear, commercially relevant insights

Data lake & insight development

  • Collaborate with insight partners and analytics vendors
  • Prepare data assets that underpin commercial insight products

Forecasting & demand insights

  • Produce demand forecasts using historical data and market trends
  • Monitor forecast accuracy and support continuous improvement
  • Identify seasonal and category‑specific demand drivers

Commercial insight & supplier engagement

  • Support the development and commercialisation of data‑driven insight offerings
  • Present insights to suppliers to support joint business planning
  • Identify new opportunities to monetise data and analytics capability

About you

You’re a curious, detail‑oriented analyst with strong commercial awareness and a passion for using data to drive growth. You’re comfortable working with large data sets and enjoy explaining insights to non‑technical stakeholders.

You’ll bring:

  • 5+ years’ experience in category analytics, commercial insights or business intelligence
  • Strong data management, cleansing and structuring capability
  • Experience working with dashboards and analytical tools (e.g. Power BI, Tableau, Excel, SQL)
  • Understanding of forecasting and demand planning principles
  • Ability to translate data into actionable commercial insights
  • Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills
  • Qualifications in Business, Commerce, Data Science or Applied Analytics
