The finance team works closely with operational leaders, providing meaningful insights and supporting commercial decision making across the group.
About the Role
This Assistant Accountant position is suited to someone who wants to be a true all rounder in finance. You will work closely with the Financial Controller and gain exposure across reporting, compliance, analysis and project work. This is not a narrow processing role. It is an opportunity to learn across the full finance function, build strong stakeholder relationships and develop into a well rounded finance professional.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare weekly and monthly financial reports
- Process general ledger journals including daily, weekly and monthly entries
- Complete daily bank reconciliations and monitor cash movements
- Perform monthly balance sheet reconciliations and investigate variances
- Assist with end of month processes including accruals, prepayments, provisions, capex and depreciation
- Maintain asset registers and support fixed asset management
- Prepare weekly stock and cash control reports and follow up variances with stakeholders
- Conduct variance analysis on monthly P&L results and provide clear commentary
- Assist with budget preparation and monitor expenditure against budget
- Prepare monthly GST reporting and support statutory compliance requirements
- Assist with audit processes and respond to management queries
- Contribute to ad hoc finance projects including system enhancements and ERP implementation
About You
- Commenced or about to commence CPA or CA studies
- Experience with general ledger journals and reconciliations
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to explain financial results to non finance stakeholders
- Team focused and adaptable, willing to take on additional tasks when required
- Proactive, reliable and eager to learn across all areas of the finance function

This is a full time, office based role working five days onsite and offers genuine long term career progression within the finance team.
