The opportunity

We have an exciting opportunity for a Permanent Part Time, versatile cleaner to join the Menzies Aviation Team based at the Darwin Airport.

The Cleaner is responsible for performing all Aviation Cleaning functions on a shift basis (in accordance with training and qualifications).

What you’ll be doing

• Cleaning of aircraft and corporate offices
• Waste management
• Cabin services (internal aircraft cleaning and cabin dressing)
• Following quarantine procedures
• Has operational contact with client representatives
• Has operational contact with Security, Airport Owners/Operators
• Has operational contact with cargo, catering, engineering and other service providers
• Works closely with the Ramp Service teams
• Works proactively to identify and resolve any issues that may affect, delay or hamper a flight. Communicates these issues in a timely manner to the senior on site
• Administration services
• Use computer skills to retrieve, print and enter data regarding flights

What we need from you

• Ability to work safely and follow directions
• Dangerous Goods Awareness training (will be provided by Menzies)
• Valid Driver's License
• Maintains a valid license for applicable tarmac vehicles
• Experience in all aspect of tarmac operations
• Knowledge of aviation legislation is an advantage
• Understanding of the role of key bodies at airports (eg AQIS, Customers, Immigration, Security, Airport owners/operators etc)
• Sound computer skills
• Experience in using ground to air radios; a Flight Radio Telephone Operator License would be an advantage
• Excellent communication skills to liaise with all personnel involved in Menzies operations
• Is calm and controlled when working under pressure
