About the Role
Our client is a NSW government organisation based in Parramatta NSW. They are currently seeking an Accounts Payable Team Leader to work with them on a 6 month temp contract with potential for extension.
Candidates for this role must have:
- Proven leadership experience in a fast paced environment
- Strong Accounts Payable knowledge and processing experience
- Previous government experience.
As the Accounts Payable Team Leader you will manage a team of 17 staff and requires strong people management capability. It is responsible for the end‐to‐end management of the Accounts Payable function
Key responsibilities:
- Strategic Team Leadership: Lead and develop a large operational AP team, prioritising staff performance, professional growth, and wellbeing.
- Operational Governance: Oversee high-volume payment processing to ensure accuracy and compliance with NSW Government and policies.
- Complex Issue Resolution: Manage high-level escalations and technical exceptions, providing expert solutions for complex AP challenges.
- Compliance & Audit Integrity: Maintain robust internal controls and reconciliations to meet all statutory audit and financial reporting requirements.
- Continuous Improvement: Drive process efficiencies and system enhancements to modernise workflows and increase departmental productivity.
- Senior Advisory & Reporting: Deliver strategic advice and financial reporting to senior management to guide organisational decision-making.
About You
Ou will be an experienced Accounts Payable Leader with proven experience and reliability in previous positions.
The successful candidate will possess:
- Proven leadership experience in a fast paced environment
- Strong Accounts Payable knowledge and processing experience
- Previous government experience.
