Responsibilities or duties

In this vital role, you will work closely with the AMIHS Midwife and Aboriginal Health team to ensure Aboriginal women and their families receive culturally appropriate care, advocacy, and support.

  • Establish, promote, and deliver culturally safe and accessible maternal health services
  • Collaborate with maternity, child, and family health services and local Aboriginal programs to remove barriers to care
  • Provide education, advocacy, referral, and support to Aboriginal women and families
  • Facilitate access to clinical interventions, transport, and community services to meet social, emotional, and cultural needs
  • Develop partnerships with communities and service providers to enhance program delivery, engagement, and positive health outcomes
